Tidelands Health Registered Nurse (RN) - Gastroenterology (GI) Motility in Georgetown, South Carolina

Position Summary : The Registered Nurse will perform GI related diagnostic test and procedures on patient which include but not limited to Esophageal Manometry, pH Impedance and Anorectal Manometry. This procedure includes passing a catheter through a patient's nose and into the esophagus and appropriately recording all measurements. This involves patient interview followed by studies that require placement of naso-esophageal and anorectal probes. Appropriately record all measurements, analyze and interpret the results for each procedure and provide this interpretation to physicians in a timely manner. Work with internal and external resources to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions. Develop and maintain relationships with product and service representatives from multiple medical equipment vendors. Work closely with the current lead Motility attending physician to work through issues and optimize patient flow. Calibrate manometry probes and hardware. Responsible for equipment inventory and maintenance. Act as primary triage contact for motility related questions and phone calls.

Identifying patient educational needs and work with other motility team members on the development of educational materials and educational programs. Assist with prior authorizations and providing comprehensive patient education. Communicate with physicians, technicians, and other multidisciplinary divisions. Coordinate complex patient care amongst the team and other divisions. Educate patient on procedure and interventions

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

▪ Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Degree received from an education institution accredited by National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) preferred.

Experience:

▪ Previous Endoscopy or OR experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

▪ Current and in good standing RN Licensure with South Carolina Board of Nursing.

▪ American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required to be initially completed with the TH Staff Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date (exceptions to obtain certification from a provider other than the TH Staff Development Office are approved by Staff development on a case by case basis). BLS & ACLS Recertification is required every two years.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

▪ Ability to works with patients, families, physicians and other health care providers with a high level of customer service orientation required.
